How Will Prizes be Awarded?

First place will receive a trophy, 2 prizes, and 1 extra raffle tickets

Second place will receive a certificate, 1 prize, and 1 extra raffle tickets

Third place will receive a certificate, 1 prize and 1 extra raffle ticket

 

The Prize Draft!!

The winners will select their own prizes. The 1st place winner of the Largemouth Bass category will select first, followed by Catfish, and Panfish, in that order*. The 1st place winners will then select a second prize following the reverse order. After the 1st place winners have selected their two prizes, the longest overall winner will select a prize, followed by the smallest overall winner. The winners of any Trophy Sponsor created categories will then select a prize. The 2nd place winners of the Largemouth Bass, Catfish, and Panfish categories will then go through and select one prize each following the same selection order as the 1st place winners. 3rd place in these categories will select a prize following the same order. 

*Note: The draft order of 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place can only be altered if a “Trophy Fish” is caught. The species of which the “Trophy Fish” was caught will be moved to the beginning of their respective round of the draft. In the event of multiple “Trophy Fish” in the same round, the fish category with the highest default draft position will draft first. A “Trophy Fish” is defined by the state of Virginia as a fish exceeding the following lengths: Largemouth Bass-22”, Blue Catfish–38”, Channel Catfish–30”, Flathead Catfish–40”, Yellow Perch–12”, Crappie–15”, Bluegill and Redear Sunfish–11”, Other Sunfish–10” 

Raffle Prizes

All prizes that are left after our winners have selected their prizes will be raffled off. A raffle ticket will be given to everyone who participated in the tournament. Additional tickets will be given to the winners (see above). Additional tickets can be purchased for $5 each. 

If you are a winner in either the draft or raffle and you are unable to attend, the prize with the highest estimated cash value will be automatically selected for you. You will be contacted so you can pick up your prize.

Changes for 2022

The rules for 2022 are identical to what they were in 2021. There were 2 changes made to the tournament format. 

1. Striped Bass has been removed as a category. 

In the 3 years we have done this tournament, 0 striped bass have been entered. Striped bass also are very sensitive to the summer heat. Based on these two factors, we have decided to eliminate the Striped Bass category. 

2. Our sponsors now have the option to add a new fishing category of their choosing. 

Our sponsors have the option to be Trophy Sponsors, which give them the opportunity to create a new fish category. Only the 1st place winner will be recognized for these created categories. Trophy Sponsor category winners will select their prize after the "Smallest Fish" winner. In the event of multiple created categories, the sponsor who made the largest donation will go first. 

  • General sponsorship will include 1. Your logo hung at the tournament shed, 2. A post on our Facebook page recognizing your sponsorship, 3. Your logo on our online registration page, 4. Verbal recognition at the awards ceremony, 5. Four tickets to participate in the tournament.

  • Sponsor selects a preexisting category to sponsor, or can form a new category of their choosing. The sponsor will be allowed to help give away the prize to their category if they so choose. They will also receive all the benefits of the "General Sponsorship."

  • If you would like to participate in memory of a loved one, this is a great way to remember them. This sponsorship will include 2 tickets to participate in the tournament and verbal recognition of your loved one at the awards ceremony.

  • Age 16 - 59 and a non veteran

  • Those who are age 60 and over, as well as those who are veterans or active members of our military, are eligible for this discounted rate.

  • Those age 15 and under are eligible for this rate. Please remember, all participants age 18 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
